On June 2nd, 2025 One Life to Love was presented with a Ceremonial Resolution by the Senate and General Assembly at the State House in Trenton, New Jersey.
In attendance were One Life to Love founder Courtney Deacon Lalotra, Board Member Nicole Paprcka, Chairperson Judith Deacon, Advisor Member Melanie Knobel, Advisor Member Faith Clancy, and Co-Director of India Programs Yogesh Lalotra and former NJGA judiciary Committee Attorney Sarita Welsh.
Also in attendance were family members Vikramaditya Singh Lalotra (9 years s/o Courtney), Bhavani Singh Lalotra (3 years, d/o Courtney), John Deacon (h/o Judith), Jenna Deacon (sil of Courtney), Thomas Emery Deacon (2 years, s/o Jenna), Deacon Clancy (12 years s/o Faith), Shannen Hazel Clancy (8 years d/o Faith), Polly Clancy (3 years, d/o Faith)

JOINT LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey are pleased to honor Courtney Deacon Lalotra, a highly esteemed member of her community, and commend her extraordinary efforts as the Founder of One Life to Love, which have secured for her the admiration of this Legislature; and,
WHEREAS, A native of Brick Township, Courtney Deacon Lalotra visited India in 2010 to conduct textile research, but when she witnessed the plight of more than 18 million children struggling to survive on the streets, she decided to move to the country and help the marginalized and abandoned, including those living with disabilities; and,
WHEREAS, To that end, Courtney Deacon Lalotra established One Life to Love, a superb organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for women and children through healthcare and education initiatives, empowerment programs, mental health services, and other beneficent endeavors that recognize and affirm the inherent dignity in each person, and, for more than a decade, she has collaborated with local and international communities to implement sustainable projects that uplift and support the most vulnerable members of society; and,
WHEREAS, Courtney Deacon Lalotra is deeply appreciated for her boundless compassion and uncommon measure of commitment, and by repeatedly demonstrating exemplary leadership and an outstanding work ethic to the benefit of others, she has earned the abiding respect of all who know of her considerable accomplishments in furtherance of a bright future replete with opportunity for all; and,
WHEREAS, It is both fitting and proper for the members of this Legislature to pause in their deliberations to acknowledge Courtney Deacon Lalotra and praise her as an individual of strong character and remarkable determination; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
That this Legislature hereby salutes Courtney Deacon Lalotra, pays tribute to her meritorious record of service, and extends sincere best wishes for continued success in all the days to come; and, Be It Further Resolved, That a duly authenticated copy of this resolution, signed by the Senate President and the Assembly Speaker and attested by the Senate Secretary and the Assembly Clerk, be transmitted to Courtney Deacon Lalotra.
